I will support Commissioner Lindeen's efforts to revise and continue the "Insure Montana" program, which provides incentives for small businesses to continue to offer health insurance to their employees.
I believe that our lowest-income neighbors should have access to health care and preventative services like the rest of us. Expanding Medicaid in Montana will provide health insurance to folks living far below the poverty line, struggling to make ends meet. That makes sense for our economy, and it is just the right thing to do. Your socio-economic background should not determine your ability to access affordable health care.
I will support proposed legislation that would allow property and casualty insurance companies to offer consumers discounts based on military or veteran status, similar to "good driver" discounts.
